Thanks for the replies. I confirm that I have had the balance checked (more than once). This was done in the local Kwik Fit (UK) and was not done on-the-car. I have never heard of this before. Sounds as though I would need to find a specialist to have this done. They found that the balance was out each time and corrected it. I always thought that balancing problems only affected the 40 - 60 mph range.

: I was assuming (I know, I know it makes an ASS out of U and ME) that the basics had been done already especially when he mentioned the wheel swapping. If you haven't had them balance, get it done at a reputable shop, on a Hunter if possible but still get the alignment done. If you don't get the alignment checked/spec'd you can chew up your tyres in quick order.
