Michael, I've had the car for about 3 months. I haven't replaced any fuel items since the purchase. You said you replaced the FUEL PUMP RELAY and the MAIN RELAY... What main relay are you referring to? Where are these relays and pumps? I have a great deal of knowledge with cars, just not BMW specifically. In my current budget, a pricey shop manual is outta the question. Therefore, your help is appreciated.

: I had a similar problem right after I purchased my 525 almnost a year ago. I replaced the fuel pump relay and the main relay and the problem never showed up again. Also when was the last time you changed the fuel filter. This same thing happend on an e28 535i.
