It should be very easy. My 535i (with only one gasket of course) takes less than an hour. Just be sure to remove ALL of the old gasket and not to let any pieces fall into the engine. I coat my new gasket with a very light amount of motor oil before installing. Get a Bently manual to show you the job and the bolt tightening sequence for the head cover bolts. That dealer quote is ridiculous! Do it yourself.
