Yes, the rear tightened up after the new bushings were installed. It had been swaying a little and I found out that the pass. side bushing was totally rotted out. It made a clunking noise when I shifted and after determining it wasn't the driveline (thank God) I read some archives on the E28 board to find out about the bushings. I did not get an alignment afterward and I still have no shimmy or pull etc. Alignment is largely fixed on E34 so I didn't feel it was worth the money unless I noticed a change.
