I had the same problem in my '94 530. The resistor had to be replaced. Now, after that was fixed 2 buttons: the A/C and air circulation stopped working (!??) ie they should glow green when pushed (those buttons are in the same area). I hope this is not related (to the resistor itself) but a result of an accidental disconnect of some wires connecting those buttons during the fix. Is it possible someone broke the AC fixing the resistor? I hope not.
