: : The Jim C. chip is great. I did notice an increase in power and the smoothness of the power is prominent. I also got a boost in gas mileage. The chip is a great upgrade for the 525i, and from what I have heard and read, Jim C. is the best.

: one of the guys on the our E34 M5 mailing list posted his dyno graph in which he ran Dinan and Jim C chip on the same day at a dyno session at Turbo Tune US Ltd in Greensboro NC on 03/04/00. The best result came from the Dinan and it consistently had more hp and torque.
: You need to sign up then goto the vault section which is where we post pics. There is a detailed scan of the dyno session. I also run a Dinan in my E34 M5 and like it alot. despite alot of peoples claims that the Jim C chip superior, I have never seen a dyno.
: 1991 E34 M5
: Rear wheel hp which is about 15% less than advertised crank HP.
: Dinan - 281hp/323hp crank & 242.7 ft lbs torque
: Jim. C - 273hp/313.95hp crank & 239.7 ft lbs torque.
: If you observe the graph you will see the Jim C chip produces less hp everywhere....
: John Robinson from down under who was complaining that after he installed the Jim C chip he only saw a few hp on the dyno was correct. A few people came down on John blaming the fact that his car was down under and was tuned differently which is why the chip did not produce a noticeable increase in hp, it appears there was nothing wrong after all. I should note that my Dinan equipped M5 can pull on my friends 1991 Jim C equipped M5 at the end of the straight at PIR. he is switching to Dinan too...
