cartridges, did you replace any of the top strut
hardware where it connects to the strut tower?

With over 110k on your car i think you may want to concider that most of the front end parts may need replacing and that just a thrust arm bushing change may not be enough. Items like ball joints( on both the upper and lower control arms...its easiest to replace the entire amm when doing this as it saves you going back in later to do one or the other., tie rod ends, center link, and idler arm are als wear points and do loosen over time. Thge e-34 has a very light weight and compliant front suspension design and even minimal wear on ay component will be noticable.

: My personal repair creado is to replace any other close items that are subject to wear all at one time. this is the circle of repairs theory. For example, why not do the struts, brakes and suspension parts all at the same time to save lots of time and or money due to multiple repairs on the same system over time. I drive 40k+ miles a year on my 89 535 and it now has over 240k and feels like new. I do my own work and change front end parts about every 65k. I HATE shimmy!
