I just recently had similar problem with my 530i. It just made a pop and stopped, would go open, but would not close past one point. I made a sharp turn then came to a stop sign and the bastard closed. Hmmm, strange. Since rain was heading our way, and I was about 70 miles from the protection of my garage, I didn't fiddle with it.

When I got home, and looked at the track with it tilted up, I saw a small piece of black plastic that was simply sliding around, and sometimes jamming under the roller in the track. I would look and see if any debris or anything else may be getting the roller stuck.
