PETROL SMELL ON 525iT with M50 ENGINE (archive)

I am getting a petrol smell on my 92 525i Touring estating when it starts from cold. Had a look in all the usual places but cannot find any leaks evident. Seems ok when warm. Does anybody have any ideas. Many thanks.
