Please Help... my shocks don't fully extend... (archive)

on their own. I am working on my springs when I notice that the struts don't fully extend. They sit at about ride height. They go down and come back to ride height. They extend when you pull them and go back down to ride height. All this off the car. The car rides fine to me...no bouncing or bottoming. any help greatly appreciated. TIA b
