Second, while 7500-8000 USD might be the right price-range for a 90/91 525i sedan with 110k miles and the M20 engine, I doubt you can find a '92 or later Touring for that price, unless the mileage is much higher. Depending on where you are in the US, you might find a '92 for about $10k with that kind of mileage. I've seen '92s with ~80k miles going for $12-15k depending on the location. And around here (Pacific Northwest) they sell at a substantial premium to the sedans due to their rareness and desireability.

: : I am looking at the possibility of purchasing a used (i believe 90 or 91) 525iT. The car has the M50 engine, an Automatic, and aprox 110K on it. I have no experience with this model and need some information as to Trouble Spots, Reliabilitty, and Performance. Thanks in advance for any help!
: also check transmission mount, seals. If muffler sounds ruff, it probably needs replacement. Do not assume water pump has been changed may cost you an engine. do not pay more than 7500-8000.
