I had a leaking valley pan gasket last year on my 530i (no short block replacement). Not covered by extended warranty. Dealer cost was more like $500. $350 labor, $146.84 parts & materials. Three gaskets, 4 o-rings, 2 clamps, 1 bearing, and a partridge in a pear tree.
