On my 1991 535iA, the heater light did the same trick on me. I asked the dealer, who said that changing was the only way. He seemed right as the switch looks like it's glued/fused together. The switch cost around 25$. That solved the problem. BTW, the heater was still working even though the light wasn't.

: the lights on the seat heater rocker switch come on when i turn on the cars lights, but they do not light up when you switch the heater on without the headlamps. are these seperate lights/bulbs/leds?? can they be replaced or do i need a new switch? or is too much of a hassle for such a small thing??
