Before you start spending money on front end I think It would be wise to have your wheels balanced on GSP 9700. When I bought the package from tirerack the balance was off and causing shimmy.
As we all know e34 front end is very sensitive to wheel balance. This machine can also roadtest the wheel and tell you if it is out of round. If this doesn't solve your problem then thrust arm bushings and balljoints, tierods, etc...

An important question is whether you had the shimmy with stock wheels? Or has it started after installing the wheel tire package?

: My rotors are fine as I just replaced them and the pads. I need to get the thrust bushings replaced, and will probably have the ball joints done as well. How much should this typically run?
