Talk about stereotyping! The point of the page is that most of the mods he's pointing out don't make the cars faster (Type R stickers, hood scoops, giant tail-spoilers etc.), or enhance performance, for which the cars owners are paying money. The other point is that many of these cars are by no means performance cars to begin with, as opposed to BMWs. That you consider a supercharger on a BMW a "waste of money" and it's owner "stupid", yet are criticising a page pointing out modifications which the author considers stupid and a waste of money is hypocritical.
On the other hand, I don't like the stereotype that BMW owners have, and I agree that we all should attempt not to stereotype others.
In the grand scheme, it comes down to taste. Would I drive a Neon with a Type-R sticker? I find that a little lame myself.... would I drive a 535 with a body kit and /M badges? Well... no. Would I drive a 525iT with 17" wheels? Yes, in fact I do. An X5? Hm... no, IMHO it goes against the Ultimate Driving Machine philosophy. An E39 540iT? Hell yes, if I had 10x my current net worth. :-)
