advice please '92 535iA--rebuilt trans?????? (archive)

I am thinking anout buying a '92 535iA, single owner, 116K miles for 12,800 dollars. The car has been well maitained except for one issue. At 109K the transmissions was replaced with a rebuilt transmission. I am not sure if I should be concerned about this. The car seems to shift well without hesitancy. It drives well too. It also had the the auxillary fan replaced at 90K.

My main concern is this rebuilt trans. the history record stated it had a burnt transmission. I am not really sure what that means. Also the previous owner states the car has driven fine since.

What does anyone think? YOur answers greatly appreciated.
