I think there has been some effect on resale already. Check out this link for Southern Cal.

Normally there are only 2-4 530's for sale in this particular publication, this week it is eleven. Damn, it's like the stock market!

Keeping in mine that California cars are unlikely to fail within the warranty period due to the low sulfur in our fuel, but they will fail eventually.
None of the ads say "new block."

Prices used to be 22+, now there are a bunch under 20k. Auto Nation offered me 17.4k for my creampuff 530 as a trade-in, even though there web site evaluated it at 22.5k. They know what's up.
