: Took my 1989 535i in yesterday to have it smogged on a dynometer. It has 119kmi and original exhaust, running 89 octane gas. The results were so good that the tech actually re-tested it to make sure the machine was correct. It had less than 1% of the maximum allowed emissions in every catagory! The tech said a new Honda LEV motor wouldn't score any better. BMW's M30 motor must be one of the best designs ever produced by an auto manufacturer.
