Hi,

Check to see if your drive belt is slipping or glazed. This may be a good warning signal that all three of your belts may need replacement (at least on M30 engines there are three belts).

If the belt is okay, the next likely trouble spot may be the front bearing of the compressor itself.

To isolate the belt as the cause, if you hear the noise, put a little soapy water on the belt as it spins. This should quiet it, thereby allowing you to confirm.
