Dear Jim
One of the best reasons for owning a BMW car or motorcycle is the degree to which an individual owner can personalize it to his or her own performance tastes. I have never owned a vehicle that remained stock for long, and the aftermarket and factory performance enhancing hardware available for BMW is among the best. Enthusiasts gravitate toward machines that reward the skill and ingenuity of the owner. I have no interest in owning a fast, smooth appliance. Are you a CCA member? Read a few issues of Roundel and you will begin to see just how many owners make finding an outlet for exploring the performance limits of their cars a major priority of their recreation.
Controversy provoked through inflammatory statements is an old trick in the ad game. Free publicity, selective opinion poll results and no real cost to you except your on line bill. A real advertising pro would try to understand the phenomenom of committed ownership instead of feigning surprise at why we aren't all driving 5 liter Mustangs. Since the instant gratification of acceleration is so important to you, why not do this in a chat room to get quicker responses?
Karl
