Thanks for your comments, I appreciate the insight! ;-) I just have a question? Why a BMW 540i (I don't buy your list of accepted BMW's, it's all or none)? You could of purchased a Maxima, a v6 Accord, a terrific Lincoln, possibly a Chevy Impala, the list goes on, but you chose a BMW! WOW, figure that one out.

If all we do is drive in straight lines I'd have a tough time getting to work, there are various left and right turns, not to mention the 3 jug handle turns I have to manage to get to work. Acceleration is great, but driving takes skill and pressing the gas and just holding the wheel straight doesn't take much (in autos, of course standard shifting takes additional effort).

As far as your status remarks are concerned - I drive cars that are a decade old, why? by choice. I think I can speak for other e34 lovers and say that many of us can afford to drive just about anything else within reason and chose to drive our "slow" cars for the cheer joy it gives us every time we even think about driving it.

Enjoy your C5, that fast machine, just be careful of your occasional BMW (modified, for the same expense as a C5)that sneaks up on you and just blows your fiberglass doors off, in a straight line of course!

Nuno
