You came seeking advice; he gave advice based on where the brains are on an E34 ('95 525i is under back seat, driver's left, at rear fuse panel). We don't know much about M3's here (nothing wrong with them, just not many owners of them here). Hope you found your answer. But don't jump all over us here.
