In Reply to: IMPORTANT SURVEY: DID ANYONE GET A LOANER posted by CAR WITH BMW V8 SWAP YES OR NO. on June 04, 2000 at 03:49:37:

Each yes tells me that this dealership is in effect not treating me fairly. To answer you guys that say take the car to N.C. dealership and/other dealerships I must be honest and say that right now we cannot afford to. I will lose work time and risk not spending time with my son after school because of my hours also our money is really budgeted tightly right now.

It is my honest feeling that the Service Advisor has elected to think that I am a little slow mentally, yes, I do realize this. All I want is a loaner car. But in the words of John Rambo if they want to draw first blood by a treating me like I cannot count past ten, and failing to live up to BMW-NA standards.I will rise to the occassion.
Please keep responding to this survey because it will help others when the time comes for them to experience the leakdown test. We all deserve a loaner without a fight.
P.S. can someone post the picture of my estimate for everyone to see, Yes or No I will give them only one more day to stir correctly.

I made sure I got this in writing on the dealerships letterhead. I guess that means that indirectly everyone will find out and know all about this BMW dealership here in Atlanta/Decatur Georgia. I'll be happy to point everyone to there website also for review and you guys can fill there survey and email boxes. There is strength in numbers thank GOD for the internet and this board
Thanks Guy's

Wheelless in the south but not slow in the brain

: How many miles did people have when they received an engine swap andd a loaner car? Should the number of miles matter sine technically the car is under warranty?

:
: estimated labor cost for installing these parts is for 14hrs at $70 per hour. I was not prepared for nor expecting this at all (A)Should I get these done now?
: And(B)are the part's prices to high (C) What should i get done? I feel that had I not needed to risk paying BMW $150 (if engine had passed test) to inspect my engine for there engineering mistake I would not have even been considering getting all this work done in the first place.
: (if so where can I get parts from delivered by early next week)?
: A/C belt=$38
: Alt belt=$19
: InspectII=$500 with 5hr labor,
: oil return line=$66 with 0.50 hr labor
: powersteering line=$80, with 0.50 hr labor
: transmission output seal + shaft seal=$30 with 0.50 hr labor, clutch=$500 labor not documented,
: Guibo(what's a guibo?)=$76 with 0.50 hr labor,
: AC fan clutch=$150 with .050 hr labor,
: O2 oxygen sensors x 2=$300 with 2 hr labor,
: L&R motor mounts=$203 with .050 hr labor,
: water pump=$132 + thermostat $16 with 0.50 hr labor,
: L catalytic convertor $1451 with2 hr labor...

: quote was actually $6,147 not 1900 I was looking at the wrong price the service advisor said.Yes engine did fail and will be replaced so I thought the lower quote was suppose to be my share, boy was I wrong, and i did not get a loaner still. Car is still at dealership.
