E34 5sp auto-trans gremlins (archive)

Recently on my 94 540ia my "trans program" light came on, i stopped, shut the the car off, restarted, and it went away, when i took it to the dealer to check for the fault code, there were still numerous codes stored from my alusil meltdown, so they couldnt determine what the specific problem was. however recently, when driving at a steady speed or just after accelerating it does a slight "shudder" almost as if it switching in and out of gear very quickly,and of course the problem never reappears when i take to my mechanic to check it. any clues??
