Last week I installed Jim's chip and had Texas German Autohaus redo the thrust arm bushings with 750 inserts in my '93 525iT automatic (60,000 mi). The result is a new and excitingly different car. The front end is definitely tighter and tracks as new. With the A/C running on-ramps and general get-up-and-go are no longer iffy. I have to be careful not to over do. Obviously, at higher rev's the motor is transformed even more. I am very pleased with the results and reommend both fixes to other 525 and 325 auto owners. By the way, the thrust arm bushings were covered by my extended warranty, I only had to pay the difference in cost between O.E. and the 750s.
At $249 plus the bushing difference, I have never spent so little on a car and had so much fun with the results.
