because they're already compressed, and will be stiffer until they're bottomed out, where the stiffness will be the same (if you understand that). I have heard issues of uneven wear, because it's not returning to a full uncompressed position, more pressure on the cylinder at rest, etc.

: I was told by Bilstein rep that the valving is identical in the HD and Sport. The issue is not wearing HDs out faster with shirt springs, it's that they'll be precompressed and not have the correct travel available.
