this is pretty much in response/reaction to the post about the Dinan tranny chips ( here ) but I was wondering if someone might say a little about the engine-life effects of "upgrading" a car with the Jim C or Dinan chips, since from the readings it looks like a good option to take, but also puts the engine to the limits. A link to an article or such would be just as good; i would just like to read up more on it before I decide to take the plunge. Seeing as that I bought a '92 525iTouring with 140K not too long ago, I'd like to keep my baby running for a while -- any comments on how much shorter my engine may last with a chip upgrade?
