Thanks for the good wishes. How long an engine block should last is an interesting question. Why not forever? Replacement of other wear parts is understandable. Combine this problem with the apparent weakness of the automatic transmission ($7k after 100,000 miles) and you could have some less than satisfied customers. I think BMW should have stepped up to the block problem and replaced them all under extended warranty. Obviously, the used car market in Calif. thinks so as well.
