Hi Ron,
As you are probably aware the M50 was used by BMW across the board in the 3 and 5 series. Long lived motor with regular maintenance. Biggest weakness on a stock engine is the cooling system. With the killers being the plastic impeller in the water pump and the fan clutch being another item to watch.

Other than that, nice motor, low maintenance and easy to work on.
