Hey Jeff,
You're kidding right!!!The black piece of triangle is where you fill in the blinker fluid!
Seriously,KRG.Am not sure about Q1&2 but the antennae on my car is the first top three element embedded in the rear window. The later model I think has got two vertical elements at the center, also embedded in the rear window.

ps. Jeff, just in case you're NOT kidding, the black triangle on the rear shelf is the center seat belt holder clip.
I'm not sure about 1). I had a 95 525i that I recently traded in for a 540i. I did not have a problem like this. As for 16k, the dealer gave me 18k for my 525 but it only had 45k miles on it. Seats were leatherette not leather though. There is a black plastic triangle on the rear deck, thats the antenna.
Need some advice re buying a '95 525ia premium package, keyless entry, practically new tires, Champagne, with 82k. One owner. All appears to be in great condition -mechanic to check out Monday. I have three questions:
1) On the top front of the engine (closest to radiator) is a band of silver/gray painted metal which wraps downward on the passenger side. The paint has peeled somewhat on the top. (You can see an example of what I am talking about, only much worse, on a '95 525i for $19,995 on www.diamondluxury.com) I have seen cars with more mileage than this specimen that did not have this issue. The question is: is this indicative of a past and/or present problem?
2) Second question: any input on price at $16k?
3) Third question: where is the radio antenna? Owners manual did not cough up the info. I seem to remember reading somewhere that they are embedded somewhere?
Thank you all for any words of wisdom, advice and help.
