I'm thinking of buying a 1990 525, automatic. It has 104K miles, one owner all servicing at authorized BMW dealer. It looks to be in good shape inside and out but seller does not have all service record history. Asking $9K. Is this a good deal? What should I look out for? Help please.

$9k seems to be fair price for that model. Check Kelly Blue Book for reference. If the BMW dealer did all of the work then surely they have the records of the service, just ask them for copies. Make sure timing belt and water pump has been changed around 100K. If it wasn't then allow for $$$ to get it done. Also check all Power devices, seat, roof, etc. If you don't know of a qualified mechanic who can perform a pre buy inspection for you, the owner should be able to get the dealership to do a service inspection/check and give you the results.
