Having gone from an e28 M5 to an e34M5, I can feel your pain. E34 parts are higher, (remember ///M means MONEY) but everything you have repaired will not give you any trouble for a very long time. Yeah, you could go get a NEW car with warranty, but would you really like DRIVING it? Would it be as confidence inspiring and at the same time less worrysome in the advent of an accident? With a child on the way you really have to think safety, for all three of you. I know this because my wife had a 318 up until our baby came. Now she has a 530I and we are both happy. She because it has more room, and me because it is a very safe car. (e34 cars have a very high crash rating, what about all your other options?) The money spent on repairs will come back to you one way or another, in one form or another. Just think long term. No other car gives back to the driver like a BMW. Bottom line is this, drive what you like and can afford and BE HAPPY.

Just my 2 cents, what do I know? I could be full of condensed owl S---.

Rob
