I'm getting to my breaking point on my bimmer love affair. I can only do minor work on the cars myself and after spending $8k in 3 years on my e28, I've already spent $2k on my e34 in 2 months.

I'm considering buying new (nissan, honda or whatever) With a new baby, having a car under warranty is starting to make a lot of sense.

Someone talk to me!!

Hey! I do not blame you for feeling that way. The only way that I would consider having a car that a dealership wants $85 per hour labor, is that I could do it myself. I was a mechanic in a previous life, if I was not, I would not have my '94 530i. I drove a '97 Lexus ES300 with 15,000 miles, I liked it. The dealer wanted $28,000 for it, but it would have another 3 years of warranty on it. My 530i with 94,000 miles on it was quieter though. The new Lexus, I think it is called the IS- something, which is about $30,000 or so and was made to compete with the BMW 328 is also a winner. Neat looking car, again 4 year warranty or so. Good luck on your decision.
