Please help. I currently own an '88 535i automatic. I like it very much due to the performance add-ons, however the body is not in the best shape, and I am constantly "working" on it. I just can't seem to ever get the car "perfect". I am finally looking for an alternate daily driver.
I can get a really good deal on a low mileage '90 525i, but I'm very concerned about the loss of performance and handling of my E28. Less power and more weight kinda sucks! Should I buy it and add a supercharger and tighten the suspension?
I need some imput from someone who has experienced a similar situation. Thanks in advance.

Darrell, My 88 535i 5 sp just turned 260000. From 235000 to 260000, had some repairs but so far no engine or tranny or other major problems. I had been looking for another low mileage E28 to start all over again, but then decided to hang out on the E34 board to see what's up. After reading all the relevant posts in the archives, I'm now considering an E34. (Don't tell anyone on the E28 board!) The both of us should consider this: What do we do with a major engine problem at this point? Even if an air-conditioner went phffft, we'd have to dig deep just to get even. I'm thinking about selling my car while it still runs strong and looks great. Maybe. Maybe not. Paul
