I'm convinced either by "black magic or vodoo" (Car and Driver quotation) that BMW cars "talk" to you. Wife had a Honda and I drove it for sales call, no problems, also no fun. I now look forward everday to my 90 mile commute to and from work. I carpool with a guy that drives a 99 Camry. Not a drive goes by where he doesn't comment positively on my 5. I have 105,000 miles on mine he has 18,000 on his. Mine is 1/3 the value of his. His depreciates $2000.00 per year, mine about $500. He's making payments, I'm not.

I love to drive to work alone and race in. He hates it....... If he drove a 5 we might be racing to work instead of carpooling......

Keep your 5, cost of depreciation and interest of the new car will far out weigh actual cost of maintenance. Check out cartalk or read any "How to get rich" magazine. They all advise to buy and keep a used car until you drive the wheels off.
