Pardon me if i compare two cooking model variants.
I've got an '84 E28 520iA and an '91 E34 520iA. The brakes on the E28 (discs/drums) aren't a patch on the E34's, and the chassis always feels more nervous. But where the E34 has a spongy feeling accelerator the E28 feels firm and more sensitive! The E34 is more comfortable and better noise-insulated, better engineered and very much more modern that the E28.

But i get more statisfaction and fun driving the E28! Nervous handling, anaemic brakes, rattles and all! One for the head, the other for the heart!
cheers
Kenneth
