Im trying to leave town for the weekend. Last night I was attempting to change the tranny fluid in my 94 525ia every thing seem to be going ok the car was level I changed the filter and cleaned it with a lint free cloth but my problem is how much tranny fluid to put in the bently book says it takes 3.2 quarts but i feed it just about 5 quarts and fluid still did not over flow from the filler plug. I had the car running in neutral when I was filling. should the car be running when filling? When I cut the car off fluid then begun to pour from the filler hole so I let it pour out until it stoped and then put on the filler plug. I test drove it and seems ok. Did I do this properly? I figured since the bently manual says it use 3.2 then the 5 quarts should be more than enough even allowing extra for the fluid missing from the pans. Im ready to leave town but Im a little nerves. does our cars eat more than 5 quarts of fluid to fill them up
Thanks
Rock
