Now that is a symptom of low freon charge or it could also be the aux fan not running.
Check the freon at the viewing window.Bubbles at idle means low charge.
Aux fan should run with the a/c on.Chk the fuse/resistor.

Hi,

I have a 1988 BMW 525i E34 which blows out warm air when idle but become very cold when the car starts running.

Occassionally, one side of the air cond. will blow out hot air or simply no air but the problem may disappear after starting the car again.

Could anyone give me some suggestions or recommendations on what could be the problem and whether it can be easily fixed.
