My 95 525i does the same thing. I know mine is an M50 motor, but it's done it ever since I bought it. Does it get worse if you have the A/C on? Mine seems to smooth out a little w/o the A/C. Of course the A/C puts a big strain on the M50 does it show any obvious effects on the M30? Just a thought.

Hi,

My M30 engine runs rough when cold. Runs fine when warm. The cold engine sensor and harness seems to check out OK.

Any ideas on what might be wrong?

How does your M30 run when cold?
