Joe,
We have a rolling road emissions test here in Illinois and my JC chipped 525i passed with flying colours.
It is a 4 mile drive to the testing station and I sat and waited for about 10 minutes. They then take it from you (the idiot couldn't drive stick and stalled it twice!) take it in and idle it, run it at some RPM's and you watch it on a screen in a glass booth as they do it! Pretty neat....
