Back when I used my 535 as a winter car I was in the Adrirondacks(upstate NY) skiing for new years(99). After I arrived the temperature dropped to-20 during the day and it was sunny and -30 at night without a wind chill. The car sat in the driveway for three days. When I went to start it the motor was a little sluggish but she started. It took a 1/2 hour to warm up(the brake fluid was almost frozen=P). That was 50,000 miles ago, so I have always figured that 15w50 was good for any weather condition.

Scott,
I use Mobil1 15w50 year round in Chicago. BTW Mobil1 15w50 has a pour rate down to -25 or so. Better than most 5w dino oils!
