I bought the car in December 1999 with 58xxx miles on it, 28xxx on the new short block. I don't know what the previous owner used but I switched to Mobil 1 at 63xxx and have been changing every 5k.

The first two changes (at 63xxx and 68xxx) resulted in very dark looking oil. I'll be changing it this week sometime, and the oil on the dipstick looks much cleaner than the previous two times. I guess that was the Mobil 1 cleaning out all the crud that the dino juice didn't get.

I'm in Northern Virginia, and we rarely see single digit temps it winter. So I will use the 15w50 year round.
