i would have to disagree with you, I have seen known many people that have cut stock spring on their cars, even just an inch, and the result: very bouncy ride! Do it right, get performance aftermarket lowering springs. However, regarding cut springs, I have rode in a few cars which had .5 to 1 coil cut off on aftermarket springs, and the ride was not that much harsher. But off course, your shocks will suffer in the long run.
