need a good shop in ny to get my car a check up (archive)

i went to gts motors in bellrose. they are a shop that deal with mostly bmw. he wanted to charge me 450.00 for an oil change and a tune up.is this the norm for a full service check-up.would i be better going to a bmw dealer? there is another shop called the little garage. have you guys heard anything about them?should i just do it myself? this is my first bmw and i need
some advise on any good shops in nyc including stealer dealers.
