Took on a Z28 last night... (archive)

I was driving home from dinner last night when I decide to go down the strip in CT where there is always a cruise night in the summer. I had gone about three lights when I get lined up against an apparently stock '97 Z28. When the light turned green we both took off. The Z28 beat me by one car lenght, but I screwed up my launch because the tires where cold. I was driving hard enough to cause my clutch slip for a second going into second. The Z28 slowed down at 70 probably because he realized that I was catching him :-), or because there were cops everywhere :-P.

I stand by my claim that a 535iM is faster 0-60 than the published 7.6 secs with only a chip, intake, and exhaust. And with 184,000 miles the engine needs an overhaul/rebuild.
