Please, any suggestions would be gratefully received. This aggravates me. Of course what aggravated me more was seeing the other 89 525i for sale in NJ for offers over 3k when I just paid $8000 for mine with 112k miles and problems ;) Doh!

Don't feel bad. I paid $5000 for my 89 525i 5 speed in New Jersey. It's got 200k on the body, a supposedly rebuilt engine. The gauges are all messed up (hit the brake and I loose most of the instrumentation besides the speedo and tach). It looks like someone drove it down the side of a bush, has a dent in one side, a headlight that you have to tap on to get it to work, and a bad throwout bearing.

Me = stupid.
