Just got zeroxes of all the service records of my '89 535... electrical is a bit of a problem, and instrument cluster is definately weak... I noticed that exhaust hangers were replaced quite often...(can hear a rattle under there again now)... am told the engine is pretty bullet proof... great car to drive... smooth, powerfull (God, is it powerful).... great car... and about $30,000 less then when new!

We are looking to buy a 535i, automatic, for my wife. Is there anything I should aware of to watch out for? I believe the big six is probably the most reliable of the 535/530/540 models? Fill me in.

Thanks in advance,
Greg
