I'm looking for a set of inexpensive wheels to use during autocrosses. I've looked at a couple of companies that make steel racing wheels, but the biggest I have found have been 16". I was hoping to find 17" wheels but that may prove unlikely. So I have several questions:
1.Does anyone know if 17" steel wheels are available? I don't need anything fancy.
2. Is the offset for 16" wheels the same as 17"?
3. The company I talked to about steel wheels said they use backspacing as opposed to offset. I'm assuming for a 17x*" wheel this would be four inches plus 20mm. Is that right?
4. It's become painfully clear after running against three Mustang Cobras in the ESP class yesterday that I need racing tires to be competitive. What kind would oyu guys reccomend? I know about the Yokohama AO32r's and the Hoosier tires, but I saw someone with Kumho's yesterday and wondered if anybody had any experience with them? I ask this because Kumho street tires are really inexpensive and I was wondering if this was true for the race tires.

Thanks in advance,
Sean H
