89 525i, Stereo Code, Alpine or Pioneer? (archive)

I have a 89 525i, I was wondering if anyone knew the buttons to press on the stereo to see if my stereo is a Pioneer or an Alpine. Also does anyone know where the changer cable is located in the trunk? Thanks.
