All I know is, mine was reading about ten degress C too low, giving ice bleeps in June etc. So I took the sensor out, separated the wiring junction behind, sanded the pins, washed out the gunk, filled the connector with silicone grease, re-assembled, and after about an hour of self-recalibration it was fine.
